Junior League of Annapolis Offers up to $4,000 in Community Grants (10/6/06)

Grant applications being accepted from Anne Arundel County non-profit organizations

Annapolis, M.D. [October 6, 2006] – The Junior League of Annapolis, Inc. invites Annapolis and Anne Arundel County non-profit organizations to apply for Community Assistance Donations. A total of $4,000 in grant money will be distributed.

Application packets are available at the Junior League of Annapolis office located at 134 Holiday Court, Parole Professional Center, Suite 306, Annapolis, Maryland 21401. Packets may also be requested by calling (410) 224-8984, by emailingjlannapolis@toad.net or by visiting www.jlannapolis.org.  Completed applications must be returned to the Junior League office by November 15, 2006. Successful applicants will be notified by November 27th and the recipient(s) will be recognized at the JLA holiday luncheon on December 1st, 2006.

Applicants must be from tax-exempt, non-profit organizations whose volunteer activities in the community either focus on mentoring or help to support and strengthen families. Applicants must use volunteers in carrying out these activities and must use the donation in Anne Arundel County.

Resources for the 2006 Community Assistance Donations come in part from the proceeds of the Junior League’s various fundraising activities. These include “Of Tide and Thyme” cookbook; and “Chefs by the Bay” spotlighting the area’s chefs to be held next in March 2007.
