Who we are:

The Junior League of Annapolis is an organization of women whose mission is to advance women’s leadership for meaningful community impact through volunteer action, collaboration, and training. It reaches out to all women of any race, religion, or national origin who demonstrate an interest in and a commitment to voluntarism.

The Junior League of Annapolis has an active membership of over 100 women who donate thousands of service hours to the community each year. We train our members to act effectively as community volunteers through an established volunteer leadership training curriculum. We invite interested women to join us in our commitment to improve our community by becoming a trained volunteer whose impact can improve the lives of women and children in Anne Arundel County.

When can I join?

Recruitment for prospective members of the Junior League of Annapolis begins in the Fall with informational open houses and activities. The new member class will begin in January with official membership into our organization at the completion of the class trainings in May. Women who are interested in joining or attending an Open House are welcome to learn more by contacting newmember@jlannapolis.org.

Who can join Junior League of Annapolis?

Women eligible to join the Junior League of Annapolis as a prospective new member shall reside in Anne Arundel County or in its vicinity. Candidates shall possess an interest in voluntarism and a commitment to developing the potential of women and to improve the community through service and leadership.

What is the application process?

If you are interested in joining, please fill out the Provisional/New Member 2023-2024 Application. Applications for the 2023 – 2024 Provisional Class closes on Friday, December 23, 2023. If you have questions about your application, please email newmember@jlannapolis.org.

What is the Provisional experience?

Once new members attend at least one Open House, express interest through an application, and meet the eligibility criteria, they will join the Junior League of Annapolis as a Provisional. Provisional members are prospective new members who are engaged in training established by the Junior League of Annapolis to prepare them for effective community and League involvement. The new member class has the opportunity to volunteer for all community outreach and fundraising projects with the League.

During the new member experience beginning in January, a robust program of training courses is offered that allows women to learn more about their community, experience various League-sponsored volunteer opportunities, and develop leadership skills. An interested member shall pay Provisional dues by the first training session of the January class.
