Junior League of Annapolis, Inc. Offers up to $2,750 in Community Grants

Grant applications from Anne Arundel County non-profit organizations due November 12, 2009

Annapolis, MD [October 16, 2009] – Junior League of Annapolis, Inc., (JLA) invites Annapolis and Anne Arundel County non-profit organizations to apply for Community Assistance Donations by November 12, 2009.  Approximately $2,750 in grant money will be awarded.

Applications may be downloaded at www.jlannapolis.org , requested by emailing president-elect@jlannapolis.org or by calling 410-224-8984.  Completed applications must be returned to the JLA office by November 12, 2009.  Successful applicants will be notified by November 23, 2009, and the recipient(s) will be recognized at the JLA holiday luncheon on December 5th.

Applicants must be from tax-exempt, non-profit organizations whose volunteer activities in the community either focus on mentoring or help to support and strengthen families. Applicants must use volunteers in carrying out these activities. The donation must be used in Anne Arundel County.

Resources for the 2009 Community Assistance Donations come in part from the proceeds of Junior League’s various fundraising activities including sales of the very popular *Of Tide and Thyme* cookbook and the new *A Thyme to Entertain* cookbook, Volunteers on the Run 5K, gift wrapping at Westfield Annapolis Mall, and Chefs by the Bay gourmet tasting gala.

Junior League of Annapolis, Inc. has made Community Assistance Donations to over ninety-five community groups throughout Anne Arundel County.
