JUNIOR LEAGUE OF ANNAPOLIS, INC. (JLA) ANNOUNCES REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS
Join JLA December 2, 2011 for a RFP workshop at the West St. Library Branch

Annapolis, MD [November 2, 2011] – Junior League of Annapolis, Inc. (JLA) is pleased to announce a Request for Proposals (RFP) for collaborative community service projects to begin in the summer of 2012. JLA is looking for a strong community partner from among Anne Arundel County’s local organizations and governmental agencies to partner with JLA’s 150 active volunteers to develop a new project to meet community needs. JLA volunteers contribute over 10,000 volunteer hours per year. With the support of our selected partner, JLA will develop, organize and provide volunteers for two projects.

JLA will be selecting projects that meet our community focus area, Self Sufficiency of Women and Teens in Anne Arundel County. The RFP is posted on the JLA website www.jlannapolis.org.

An application workshop will be held on December 2, 2011 at 10:00AM at 1410 West Street, the West Street branch of the Anne Arundel County Public Library. At this workshop, applicants will learn about the proposal criteria and application process and have the opportunity to discuss potential project ideas with representatives of JLA. Applicants are strongly encouraged to send a representative to this free workshop to ask questions about specific project ideas.

In addition to providing volunteer support, JLA will also provide funding for the project. JLA has designated up to $10,000 annually to be used for up to two projects. This RFP does not provide grant money to the community partners. ____________________________________________________________________
