Scrub-a – Dub- Dub!  Chesapeake Children’s Museum Done in a Day

Annapolis, Maryland [February 16, 2007] – The Junior League of Annapolis (JLA) will be cleaning The Chesapeake Children’s Museum on March 11, 2007.  League volunteers will clean, organize and spruce up the much loved museum, which is home to many creative centers that focus on the Chesapeake Bay and the arts.  The League annually provides volunteers to help give the museum an overall deep cleaning of all the toys, toy containers and toy organizers.  The non-profit museum is located at 25 Silopanna Road in Annapolis and is open everyday from 10 – 4 PM for children of all ages. The museum is always in need of donations of art supplies and currently needs copy paper, both white and colored.  It was founded in 1992, when a group of local parents and child development experts came together to demonstrate a need for a “children’s museum” — a place where, together, children and their parents or care-givers could enjoy hands-on educational exhibits. Moreover, a growing body of scientific evidence validated our empirical findings, going so far as to posit that a healthy start in life is directly related to the quality of experiences a child receives during his/her first years.  For more information on the JLA cleaning project or to make a donation please call 410-224-8984.
