Annapolis, MD [August 9, 2007] – The Junior League of Annapolis, Inc. elected Susan K. Bruce to serve as the President for the 2007-2008 year. Mrs. Bruce has been active in the Junior League for nine years, and has served in various leadership and Executive Board positions including Chair of Community Outreach and Project Research (COPR), Chair of the inaugural year of Teen Empowerment and Mentoring (TEAM), Vice President of Community Impact, Chair of Chef’s by the Bay gala fundraiser, and Nominating & Placement Director. Mrs. Bruce joined the Junior League in 1998 in Los Angeles and transferred to the Annapolis League in 1999. Mrs. Bruce grew up outside of Philadelphia and is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Vanderbilt University, having majored in Computer Electrical Engineering and Math. She received her MBA from University of Pennsylvania Wharton School of Business and attended the Harvard General Manger Program. Mrs. Bruce has worked for LTV Corporation and Texas Instruments. She has been with Northrop Grumman for the past 18 years where she is the Director of Advanced Airborne ISR Systems. Mrs. Bruce currently resides in Severna Park with her husband and twin 5-year-old sons.

As President Elect for the 2007-2008 year, Mrs. Bruce was able to begin setting her goals for the upcoming year. Mrs. Bruce hopes “to increase our connections to the community, to the Junior League International at large and among members. To look at ways to improve our community effectiveness, helping to create programs and awareness for unmet needs in the community, work to strengthen our partnerships with other organizations in the Anne Arundel community, and to continue to train our members to be effective civic leaders in the community.”
