Junior League of Annapolis hosts Eighth Annual “Chef’s By the Bay” Auction and Gourmet Tasting Gala (3/14/07)

15 local restaurants and chefs to showcase local cuisine

Annapolis, MD – [March 14, 2007] – The Junior League of Annapolis, Inc. (JLA) is thrilled to sponsor its eighth annual “Chefs by the Bay” fundraiser on Sunday, March 25, 2007 from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium Banquet Facility.

Chefs by the Bay will feature a gourmet tasting along with silent and live auctions. Live auction items will include vacation home getaways, fine dining packages, and other exciting offerings. Proceeds will benefit the projects and programs of the JLA, including T.E.A.M. (Teen Empowerment and Mentoring) in conjunction with the juvenile justice system, annual bookbag project which supplies over 1,000 children in need with school supplies, a Jingle Bell Jubilee holiday event for over 350 foster children and their families, multiple community outreach programs including the recent make-over of the Lighthouse Shelter family apartment, publishing and distribution of The Teen Resource Guide and annual Community Assistance Grants.

Guests will enjoy entertainment and signature dishes from some of Anne Arundel County’s finest restaurants and chefs. This year we welcome several new restaurants to join our veteran participants the list includes Kyma, Osteria 177, Reynolds Tavern, Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay, Jimmy Cantler’s Riverside Inn, Kent Manor Inn and Restaurant, The Rockfish, Carrol’s Creek

India’s Restaurant, Lebanese Taverna Café, Deep Creek Restaurant, Phillips Annapolis Harbor Restaurant, Caroline’s Cakes, Hard Bean & Booksellers Coffee and DeLoache Chocolate.

The event is sponsored by Chambers Family Dentistry, The Baltimore Sun and Snow Queen Vodka, who will also be providing a martini bar. Other sponsors include Bay Area Orthopedics, Bradley Home and Pool, Loftus Masonry, Mills Fine Wine and Spirits, and Zachary’s Jewelers. Advance tickets are $75 per person up to the day of the event, and if the event is not sold out, tickets may also be purchased for $85 at the door.
