Junior League Volunteers Filled Tote Bags With Activities To Make Hospital Experience Less Stressful For Pediatric Patients

Annapolis, MD – [April 13, 2006] – The Junior League of Annapolis, Inc. (JLA) donated 200 activity totes, a DVD player and several DVDs to the Pediatric Unit at the Anne Arundel Medical Center on April 10, 2006 at 11:30 a.m.

The age and gender specific tote bags were filled with games, coloring books, crayons, crossword puzzles, books, Play Doh, electronic games, cards, stickers and other activities that were donated or collected during drives held at the Crofton Kmart and the Dollar Tree in Crofton. Money was also raised at fundraisers held at Chevy’s Restaurant and at Fuddruckers.

Every year the Anne Arundel Medical Center’s Pediatric Unit admits approximately 250 children. JLA hopes to lessen the stress and anxiety children feel when they are admitted to the hospital by providing these fun-filled activity totes.
