The speaker for the 12/12 GMM is Rebecca Snyder, the Executive Director of Executive Alliance, and will discuss green bag opportunities. She will talk to JLA about positioning yourself for a board or commission (those nominations were historically sent in a “green bag,” hence the name). She would also like to briefly explain how to advocate for a cause and identify proposed legislation that impacts women.

Rebecca founded RS Partners, an association management company. In addition to her role with Executive Alliance, she is the executive director of the MDDC Press Association. Rebecca was vice president and general manager of The Daily Record for 12 years and has also worked for the Federal News Service. Active in the community, Rebecca has served on the board of the Baltimore Community Mediation Center and the board of The Loading Dock. She is also a graduate of the Greater Baltimore Committee LEADERship Program and a Dolan Leadership Institute fellow.

Executive Alliance (www.executivealliance.org) is a statewide not-for-profit organization in Maryland composed of professional executive women. The organization initiates, supports and engages in activities to promote the advancement of women in professional and executive positions. Executive Alliance promotes the placement of women on corporate boards and educates the public on the benefits of having women in decision-making positions. Members serve as role models and mentors to women seeking to advance their careers.
