CREATIVE EXPRESSIONS ART SHOW

Juvenile Justice art Show at St. John’s College

Annapolis, MD [May 13, 2008] – Junior League of Annapolis, Inc. invites the public to a free Creative Expressions art show on Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at the Mitchell Gallery at St. John’s College in Annapolis from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm to view the artwork created by young women in juvenile services currently residing at the Young Women’s Facility of Maryland at Waxter.

Creative Expressions is the name of the fine arts program created and implemented by the Junior League of Annapolis, Inc.’s Juvenile Justice Committee, developed to expose youth to various art forms and teach them how to utilize art as positive tools for self-expression. This event is the culmination of two and a half years of programming.

St. John’s College has generously donated the use of the Mitchell Gallery for one evening to display their art work and poetry.  This night will give these young women the opportunity to view their efforts and share this experience with their families and support systems.
