Back to School Supply Drive Organized by Local Community Volunteer Organization and Local Office Depot Stores

ANNAPOLIS, MD. – [JUL. 27, 2005] – Junior League of Annapolis, Inc. will be accepting donations for the 12th annual Book Bag Project by having school supply drives to fill 1,000 backpacks at the Annapolis Office Depot , Harbour Center and Severna Park Office Depot, Market Place on August 6 from 10 am-2 pm, and again at the Annapolis store on August 14 from 11 am-3 pm.

Each year, the Junior League of Annapolis donates backpacks filled with school supplies for children on the free lunch program in Anne Arundel County. This year’s Book Bag Project will benefit children at Brooklyn Park, Maryland City, Van Bokkelen Elementary, and Park Elementary schools.

The Back to School Book Bag Project is a program that began in 1993. The Junior League of Annapolis, with the assistance of grants and donations, acquires and assembles book bags filled with school supplies for needy children in the Anne Arundel County community to ensure they start the school year prepared. With the help of corporate and independent donations, over the past 10 years, the Annapolis Junior League has distributed almost 10,000 filled book bags! The Junior League of Annapolis is the leader in making our community a place where all children can reach their full potential.
