Crystal Staples
Crystal Staples joined the League in the Fall of 2017 and has served on several committees including financial strategies, Gala, and COPR, and has been our Parliamentarian since the 2022 League Year. Crystal is a Senior Resource Manager for the Defense Media Activity (DMA). She holds several financial management and HR professional certifications including Strategic Business Partner and Strategic Workforce Planner, as well as a Master of Science in Human Resources Management from Webster University. She is the principal coordinator and liaison to the DMA Chief Human Capital Office, Budget Office, and Acquisition and Procurement staff, directly responsible for planning immediate and long-range resource requirements. Prior to assuming her current position, Crystal led a distinguished military career retiring after 26 years from the U.S. Army. In between time, she earned her Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management. During those 26 years of service, she served overseas in locations such as Iraq, Afghanistan, The Republic of South Korea, Germany, and other duty stations around the United States. She received numerous awards and distinguished honors.
In her community, Crystal is affectionately known as Rev Crystal. As a licensed and ordained Minister, as well as a Master in Divinity from Chesapeake Bible Seminary. In addition, she is an associate minister at the Agape Deliverance Ministry, Inc. located in Millersville, Maryland. At the Agape Center, she serves as Education Advisor for Youth and Young Adult Ministries; hosting Community Movie nights and fun fairs; coordinating food collections and grocery runs. Crystal is an active member of several nonprofit organizations which includes the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. In addition, she was recent past Chairman, Nominating Committee, Ladies of Vision (LOV) Charities, Inc.; Charter Member/Secretary, Anne Arundel County Unit of Parliamentarians; and Parliamentarian, Junior League of Annapolis (JLA), Inc. All these organizations allow Crystal to stay active in her community.
