Junior League of Annapolis, Inc. provides for Anne Arundel County Students

Annapolis, MD [September 5, 2007] – The Junior League of Annapolis, Inc., It’s Elementary! Book Bag Program provided 1,000 backpacks filled with school supplies to Anne Arundel County elementary school students on the free lunch program. Students at Maryland City Elementary, Freetown Elementary, Georgetown East Elementary, Hilltop Elementary, and Marley Elementary schools will benefit for the 2007-2008 school year.
The Junior League of Annapolis, Inc., It’s Elementary! Book Bag program has provided over 14,000 students their annual supplies since the program began in 1993. The Junior League of Annapolis, with the assistance of grants and donations, acquires and assembles book bags filled with school supplies for children in Anne Arundel County to ensure they start the school year prepared. Over the past 14 years, the Junior League has distributed more than 14,000 filled book bags.
