2025 Galentine’s Day Brunch: Celebrating Women in Leadership

Honoring three trailblazing leaders: Fire Chief Trisha L. Wolford, Police Chief Amal E. Awad, and Colonel Yolanda Gore
Annapolis, MD – January 13, 2025 – The Junior League of Annapolis (JLA) is thrilled to announce its 2025 Galentine’s Day Brunch, an event dedicated to celebrating women in leadership and fostering community connections. This highly anticipated gathering will take place on Sunday, February 2, 2025, at the Doubletree Hotel in Annapolis at 10:30am – 2:00pm.
The Galentine’s Day Brunch provides an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of women in leadership, support community initiatives, and network with like-minded individuals committed to advancing women’s causes. Each of the honorees have made a profound impact in their fields. Their accomplishments exemplify strength, dedication, and leadership, inspiring future generations of women to pursue leadership opportunities.
About the Honorees:
- Fire Chief Trisha L. Wolford has broken barriers as the first female fire chief in Anne Arundel County. Her visionary leadership and dedication to public safety continue to pave the way for women in fire services.
- Police Chief Amal E. Awad made history as the first female police chief in the county. Her trailblazing career demonstrates commitment to justice, equity, and community-focused policing.
- Ft. Meade Garrison Commander Colonel Yolanda Gore is a dedicated servant leader with over 22 years of distinguished service in the U.S. Army, excelling in leadership, manpower, training, and human resources, and holding key roles at the Pentagon, 1st Infantry Division, and Army Resilience Directorate, while earning numerous awards and guiding diverse teams with a passion for taking care of people.
