Become a Member
The Junior League of Annapolis, Inc. has a current membership of over 300 women who donate over 10,000 service hours to the community each year. The Junior League reaches out to all women of any race, religion or national origin who demonstrate an interest in and a commitment to voluntarism.  We also train members to act effectively as community volunteers through an established volunteer leadership training curriculum.  The first year of active service in the Junior League of Annapolis is a Provisional year. Provisional members have the opportunity to volunteer for all JLA community outreach and fundraising projects.

Who can join the Junior League of Annapolis?
To be eligible to join the Junior League of Annapolis as a prospective member, a woman must be age 21 and older and reside in Anne Arundel County or in its vicinity.  The candidate must possess an interest in voluntarism, a commitment to community service and an interest in developing further potential for voluntary community participation. 

When can I join?
Women interested in joining the Junior League of Annapolis are strongly encouraged to attend an Open House typically held in early August.  A proposed member must be registered as a Provisional with the Provisional Committee Chair on or by September 30 of the JLA year in question.  If an individual misses the September 30 deadline they will need to wait until the following September to join.

What is the enrollment process?
Provisional training begins in September and continues through the following May. During the Provisional year, a robust program of training courses is offered that allows women to learn more about their community and experience the various League-sponsored avenues for volunteerism and develop leadership skills.

2009-2010 Membership Requirements:

• Pay Dues of $140.00
  
• Attend provisional training meetings (held during months of Sept, Oct, Nov, Jan and Feb).
  
• Attend 4 or more General Membership Meetings.
  
• Participate in fall service project
  
• Participate in spring provisional service project
  
• Attend one council or committee meeting
  
• Complete fundraising requirement for Chefs by the Bay, Gift Wrap, and Cookbook fundraisers.  There are a variety of ways to complete the fundraising requirements including purchasing items and tickets, making donations, obtaining corporate sponsors, and working at events.
