(JLA) is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Its purpose is exclusively educational and charitable.
Volunteers on the Run
We invite all runners and walkers to register for the second annual Junior League of Annapolis, Inc., Volunteers on the Run 5K that will take place on October 4, 2008 at the Red Maple Pavilion in Quiet Waters Park in Annapolis at 8:30 AM. Congratulations to Maureen Cavaiola our Excellence in Volunteerism Award winner for 2008! An outstanding community volunteer, Maureen co-founded Partners in Care, a non-profit organization in Anne Arundel County, 15 years ago and has been dedicated to it’s expansion ever since. Partners in Care assists older and disabled adults by using a unique, service-exchange concept which engages its 2,400 member network to help each other given her belief that everyone has something to contribute. Maureen is truly a “Woman Who Makes a Difference” and we celebrate her!
